Resistant Starch - a Medical Superfood

True Health Begins in the Gut!

G-factor's™ 'Body Intelligence' range of 'plant energy protein powders' is a no fuss way to provide up to one third of the recommended dietary intake (RDI) of Resistant Starch with the added beneift of containing all the 9 essential amino acids your body needs from a dietary/ supplementary source.

Many of us have not heard about resistant starch but we should because it is fast becoming a medical superfood of the world.

Why? Because of its ability to re-boot your body to optimum health by feeding the population of good bacteria in your microbiome. Your gut contains 90% of cells found in the body.

There are four types of Resistant Starch

RS1 - Resistant Starch

Physically inaccessible or undigestible resistant starch, such as
that found in seeds or legumes and unprocessed whole grains.

RS2 - Resistant Starch

Is inaccessible to enzymes due to starch conformation - as in our own, home grown, Australian Lady Finger Green Bananas.

RS3 - Resistant Starch

That is formed when starch-containing foods are cooked and cooled, such a pasta or rice. Occurs due to retrogradation, which refers to the collective processes of dissolved starch becoming less soluble after being heated and dissolved in water and then cooled.

RS4 - Resistant Starch

That have been chemically modified to resist digestion.

G-factor™ 'Body Intelligence' range of 'plant energy powders' Formulated Sports Nutrition Protein blends and our Formulated Meal Replacement protein blend all contain Green Banana Resistant Starch (GBRS) . GBRS is resistant to primary digestion. It's a complex carbohydrate, which is essential for maintaining health - especially when made from Australian 'Lady Finger' Green Bananas - the worlds most nutrient dense version of Resistant Starch.

Resistant starch works by producing butyrate - the preferred energy source for the cells in our large intestine - and this crucial digestive enzyme feeds good gut bacteria and inhibits the growth of bad bacteria.

Resistant Starch can also remove inflammation, lower triglyceride levels, and cholesterol and increases absorption of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants capacity of foods.

Resistant Starch can also lower the rate of diabetes and can aid in the treatment of both Type 1 and Type 2.

New studies have been released stating that a diet rich in Resistant Starch is essential to protect our bodies from diabetes.
